Make a U-turn on Emerald Hill Rd and walk back to Orchard Rd, turn left and walk to Centrepoint Mall at 176 Orchard Rd. Visit B1-09/10/11 if you want to shop at The Fairprice Finest Supermarket for food, drinks, snacks and daily necessities at reasonable prices. Then visit B2 for murals.

Walk to the side of Centrepoint to discover the wall mural by RIPPLE ROOT at Cuppage Terrace. Cuppage Terrace is a conservation area that is made up of a row of 17 Malacca-style terrace houses built in 1905-07. It is filled with restaurants, cafes and bars.

Walk back and turn right at Orchard Rd. Continue down Orchard Rd until you observe the Istana on your left.
285) The Istana
The Istana is the official residence of the President of Singapore. However, presidents and cabinet ministers did not reside there since the third President of Singapore. The VILLA, meant to be used for foreign heads of state, were rarely used and since 1984, no longer used.

The SAF Silent Precision Drill Squad and the SAF Ceremonial Band perform the Changing of Guards Ceremony at the Istana in Singapore. This is typically held on the first Sunday evening of each month. It involves incoming guards marching from Koek Rd to meet the outgoing guards at the main entrance for a symbolic parade and rifle precision drill.
The Istana building and its grounds are open to the public on five selected statutory holidays – Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Hari Raya Puasa, Labour Day and National Day.
